With an average IMDb score of 5.4 from over 80 horror movies released in 2017 it was a pretty average year for horror movies overall. We got some great ones (Gerald's Game and The Killing of a Sacred Deer) but we also got some serious crap too - just look (or maybe don't) at Child of Satan (2017) and The Wake (2017) for example.
