More Boo For Your Buck!

By Jordan K. |

Continuing on with your spooky playlist, let’s jump into some anthologies! More stories to scare you, fewer movies to purchase (have to keep you budding high school and college horror enthusiasts in mind)! Each movie on this list should appeal to everyone, while also giving niche enthusiasts something to be excited about.

Trick r’ Treat (2007)

To be generous, we’ll start off with a classic. Trick r’ Treat (2007) takes its viewers through five interwoven stories one Halloween night to show that this holiday in suburbia is not at all what it seems. Each story leads seamlessly into the next one and, by the end, you won’t be opening the door for trick-or-treaters without at least a little bit of anxiety. Children on a candy high, or demons? Although, honestly, is there that big of a difference?

XX (2017)

Following up a classic with a young, bloody relative: XX (2017) is a brand-spanking new film that gives its viewers four short stories written and directed by women. Not only will you get in your girl power for the evening, but you’ll be exposed to a mix of straight-up horror with a little bit of comedy thrown in thanks to “The Birthday Party.” XX makes a good second feature for this playlist, with its last piece leaving you on a high note that brings us right to the topic of number three.

Southbound (2015)

Here we are, our final piece de resistance for the list: Hell! No, seriously, we’re following these people into Hell, so strap in! Southbound (2015) details the stories of five sets of people, all with one thing in common: where they’ll arrive by the end of the flick. Each story shows viewers, in bits and pieces, why these people are headed down south. Plus, if you feel like you haven’t gotten your fill of gore yet, “The Accident” will certainly take care of that!

Thank you for making part of your spooky night! Make sure to check out our other playlists, and don’t forget to share and like. We at wish you a frightening Halloween!
